In its article on Werner Pirchner, the Austrian composer and vibraphonist, the leading German-language music encyclopaedia writes: “In 1975, together with the guitarist Harry Pepl, he founded the JazzZwio (Gegenwind), whose tours helped to anchor Austrian jazz internationally” (translated from the German). The index volume to the biographical part of the MGG (Kassel: Bärenreiter 2007) lists “Pepl, Harry”.
