Kohler distinguishes three versions (without MIDI, with MIDI, Raab 1993). The theme works with fourths and a wider range; it was considered so difficult that in 1980 it was too demanding for the ensemble of The String Summit.
In the catalogue of the INA (Institut national de l'audiovisuel, the French archive for radio and television), the piece appears in two concert recordings by Radio France (France's public radio broadcaster). With the Michel Portal Unit on Monday, 10 March 1986, “Radl Bremser pastor” is listed as a single entry: two pieces, Pepl's “Radlbremser” and Michel Portal's “Pastor”, which followed each other directly or merged into one another, as Pepl and his fellow musicians liked to do (according to Pepl's son Daniel Pepl). With Air Mail, in a recording which the INA dates to Thursday, 15 May 1986, it is called “Bike breaker”.
