The recording was released by Label Bleu, the jazz label founded in 1986 by the Maison de la Culture d'Amiens, the arts centre of Amiens (France): in 1987 as an LP (LBL 6513) and a cassette (LBL 46513), then as a CD (LBLC 6513, “© 1988”) with the additional track “Pastor”, which is not on the LP. Kohler gives “BP 0631” as the catalogue number; this is, however, Label Bleu's post office box (“BP 0631, 80006 Amiens Cedex” on the back cover). The Bibliothèque nationale de France gives 1987 as the year of the sound recording (℗) for the LP, cassette and CD; Kohler and Zlabinger date the release to 1987, contemporary press to 1988: Le Monde, the Paris daily, reviewed the record on Wednesday, 17 August 1988, and singled out its “particularly well-chosen” line-up. According to Kohler, “Turbulence” and “Men's Land” were honoured with awards. According to Pepl’s short biography of 2000 (Sammlung Essl), these were numerous awards from French record critics. The LSG (Austria's collecting society for the neighbouring rights of performers and record producers) lists the recording under “Unknown”.

France Musique played “Ahmad The Terrible” in 2019 in the first episode of its “Grands entretiens” with Michel Portal.

The back cover gives the line-up for each piece: Pepl plays on “Ahmad The Terrible” (12:47, composed by Jack DeJohnette) with Dave Liebman (soprano saxophone) and Michel Portal (tenor saxophone); “Men's Land” (9:07, Mino Cinelu and Michel Portal) and “Easy'Nuff” (18:10, Dave Liebman) do not list him. The Bibliothèque nationale de France lists Pepl as guitarist on “Ahmad The Terrible” and on “Pastor” (8:42, with Jean-François Jenny-Clark on double bass); according to Discogs he can also be heard on “Easy'Nuff”, although the sleeve does not name him there. The cover lithograph is by the Belgian painter Pierre Alechinsky, the photos are by Guy Le Querrec (Magnum Photos); the executive producer was Michel Orier, the producer the Maison de la Culture d'Amiens. According to Discogs the CD was reissued in 1996 and 2008, and the LP again in 2016.

In libraries: The Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) in Paris, France's national library, holds all three editions and lists Pepl as a performer: the LP under shelfmark SD 30-97772 (catalogue record), the cassette under SM-45022 (catalogue record) and the CD under SDC 12-17822 and PDCE-1917 (3) (catalogue record). The cassette has been digitised (NUMAV-202092) and can be heard in Gallica intra muros, the digital collection that the BnF makes available only in its reading rooms in Paris; this has been announced for the digitised CD (NUMAV-139549). Listening takes place in the Bibliothèque de recherche, i.e. with a reader's card.
