As a duo and as a Wienerlied
Two recordings show how far the piece reaches. In 1989 Pepl played it as a duo with Wolfgang Puschnig at the Jazz Spring festival in the Kurhalle Oberlaa in Vienna, Austria, broadcast by ORF (Austria's public broadcaster). In 2023 his former student Peter Havlicek, with the Berger Havlicek Orchester, Wolfgang Puschnig, Peter Rosmanith and Christian Bakanic, turned it into a Wienerlied (Viennese song) version for the Wiener Konzerthaus, one of Vienna’s two great concert halls.
